Lola James Harper is thrilled to announce a special two-week activation at its Parisian gallery in the first arrondissement, located at 78 rue Jean- Jacques Rousseau. From June 14th to June 29th, 2024, the store/gallery will transform into an immersive experience through scent, song, photography, and film, dedicated to the year 1993—when Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins recorded and conceived the iconic, quadruple platinum album "Siamese Dream".
For the first time, Lola James Harper will host an exhibition featuring black-and-white and color photographs by Billy Corgan, Grammy Award-winning frontman of The Smashing Pumpkins, and Lili and Rami Mekdachi, the founders of Lola James Harper. These photographs share a visual story of the two distinctive places that inspired this collaboration.
Additionally, a 10-minute short film featuring Billy Corgan and Rami Mekdachi will be screened throughout the day. This premiere showcases Billy’s reflections on creation, freedom, and memories, providing an intimate glimpse into his artistic process during the creation of "Siamese Dream".
To complete this unique experience, the gallery will unveil two exclusive collaborative candles with The Smashing Pumpkins. The first candle, "The Mais Street Studio", recreates the scent of the studio where the iconic band rehearsed in 1993. The second candle, "The Purple Fuzz", captures the essence of the imaginary world Billy Corgan envisioned to inspire the creation of the mythical "Siamese Dream” album.
